Striving Perfection

Perfection: the state of completeness and total flawlessness, the state in which it all ends, that state when striving for more is no more.

Perfection, is it what we all seek? Where we do not have to strive to impress anyone because we have become perfect, where we are no more in competition with others? Is this what we really want; is perfection what we truly want?

Perfection cannot be what we strive for, we think that it is, but it is not, because as soon as we attain perfection, life ends, and then we do not have a reason to live anymore. YES! I believe striving for perfection is what keeps us alive and that ones we attain it, we stop striving and that is when we stop living.

Striving for perfection is what keeps us moving, when we think the next invention we make will be the break towards perfection, we will always want to strive for a higher and better invention that we think is more perfect than that which we thought will be perfect.
Perfection is like a fantasy, it is that which cannot be attained, no matter how much we try, we will never be perfect. Even after the surgical, medical and technological breakthroughs, we still have not attained perfection.

Who defines what perfection is anyway, who said that a spotless and no freckles face is that which is perfect, what if we turn it around and say, she has the perfect freckles, will that not be another definition of perfection?. Perfection is indeed complicated; there is indeed perfection in some aspects in which some people deem as imperfect, if only we can really open our eyes to see.

There is joy in imperfection, there is peace in imperfection, and there is satisfaction in imperfection. If only we can learn to love ourselves in the imperfect form and do not let societies definition of perfection affect our reasoning, then indeed, we will be more accepting of ourselves and others around us. If we learn to love our own unique beauty and not incline to societies definition of beauty, then we will see the ones who are indeed beautiful from the inside, if we learn to love our own unique family and not incline to societies definition of the perfect family, then we can make things work in our own unique way.
Diversity is what we need to grow, have fun, and share earth shaking ideas, but how will this be possible if we are all uniform as a result of perfection, how will we ever share different ideas and develop new frontiers when we all think alike. True perfection will bring about total uniformity, and total uniformity will bring about a stunted growth. Perfection is indeed a fantasy that should never be attained.

Perfection is that which the society seems to say you can attain, but when you really think deep on it, no one can really attain perfection, we can only strive for it. By the way, this article is not meant to be perfect.
